Summary

In June 1963, Air Force Major Armand Parker, along with his wife and another military officer, observed a large fireball with a glowing tail in the sky over Oahu, Hawaii. The object, with a yellowish tint, appeared at 60 degrees above the horizon and moved rapidly northeast before burning out at 15 degrees. The observation lasted between 2½ and 3 seconds, typical of a bright meteor. Although no photos or radar data were taken, all witnesses agreed on the description.

The Air Force evaluated the case and concluded it was a meteor, ruling out other possibilities such as balloons or aircraft. The report was shared with multiple military and intelligence agencies, including the CIA, Army, and Navy. Although no official assessment of the object's exact nature was made, the data matched what is expected from an astronomical event. The case was considered resolved as a natural phenomenon.
