🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1963, a couple in Frankfort, New York, observed a bright object moving northeast at high altitude. The phenomenon occurred on two consecutive nights, lasting about 4 minutes each time. Witnesses described the object as star-like, without visible features or sound. The Air Force concluded it was the ECHO I satellite, an inflatable sphere used for communication tests.
This case was analyzed by multiple military offices and confirmed as a satellite, making it a classic example of how orbital objects were misinterpreted as UFOs in the era. Although there were no photos or radar data, the location and trajectory matched known satellite data, closing the case conclusively.
