🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A witness in Fairfield, Connecticut, reported a silent, elongated object with a pulsating white light that appeared from the west and vanished quickly toward the east. The observer, with experience in radar and aviation, estimated the object was moving at 2-3 times the speed of a satellite. The sighting lasted about two minutes and produced no sound. Initially thought to be a satellite, the observer's background led them to question a conventional explanation.
The official evaluation concluded it was a conventional aircraft, with no evidence suggesting anything unusual. The report noted no photographic evidence or additional data to support an alternative interpretation. Despite the detailed description, authorities considered it a misinterpretation of a normal object. The case was closed without further investigation.
