🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1963, an observer in Sioux City, Iowa, reported a white object flashing high-intensity light every five seconds. The object moved in a straight path toward the west without maneuvering and disappeared after one minute of observation. Although it was not detected on radar, investigators concluded it was likely an aircraft, as the flashing pattern matched the strobe lights of a jet. Weather conditions were clear, and wind data at high altitudes suggested the object was flying at a great height.
The report also noted that the observer saw the same object on other dates, which raised some questions about its nature. Despite the lack of definitive identification, available data supported the hypothesis that it was a conventional aircraft. The report emphasized that there was no threat to national security, but also highlighted the need to improve procedures for evaluating UFO reports more effectively.
