🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1963, an aircrew observed a bright flash in the Pacific near coordinates 35.20N 174.09W. The event lasted half a second and showed fragments spreading in all directions. The sighting was recorded as a visual observation from the air, with no photos or radar involved. The crew noted that the tail of the explosion indicated a northwest origin, but the object or cause remained unidentified.
The official report concluded that there was insufficient data for a precise evaluation. Possible explanations such as a balloon, aircraft, or astronomical event were considered, but none confirmed. The message was distributed to multiple military and intelligence agencies, including the CIA, suggesting an interest in ruling out conventional explanations. Despite efforts, the case remains unsolved, adding another mystery to the history of unidentified sightings.
