🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1963, in Yakutat, Alaska, a sighting of two unidentified objects was reported. One appeared as an elliptical point in green/yellow, while the other showed as a long blue streak. Both objects were observed for a short duration and moved in a straight line from west to southeast. The first showed no tail or trail, while the second appeared to have one. Observers, including FAA personnel and a meteorologist, described the phenomenon with precision, although they could not clearly identify its nature.
The official conclusion suggested it was a meteor or comet. However, the data provided, such as the difference in altitude and colors, adds a touch of mystery to the case. Although the possibility of a weather balloon or conventional aircraft was dismissed, the report did not completely rule out the possibility of an unknown object. This case, though concluded as a meteor, remains an interesting example of how sightings were documented in the 1960s.
