🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
Three university professors observed a bright object resembling a star, brighter than Sirius, near the moon. The object remained stationary for several minutes, with an extremely slow angular movement. Although a weather balloon was considered, it couldn't be confirmed because the balloon's package wasn't recovered. The witnesses, including a physicist with a PhD, described the phenomenon with precision.
The investigation concluded the object might have been a research balloon launched from Texas. This balloon was tracked for hundreds of hours, but its package wasn't recovered. Despite its trajectory placing it near Maryland at the time of the sighting, it can't be confirmed with certainty. The lack of physical evidence and the trajectory coincidence suggest a plausible explanation, though not definitive.
