🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1963, a group of witnesses in Scarsdale, New York, observed an unidentified flying object shaped like two cones joined at the base. The sighting occurred at an estimated altitude of 5,000 to 10,000 feet, and the object was described as bright as a golden light. Initially thought to be an aircraft, the description and flight characteristics suggested something different. The phenomenon was seen by multiple people, including a group of witnesses who reported seeing a similar object days earlier. Despite investigations, no conventional explanation was found for the sighting.
The classified report from Project 10073 concluded the object was probably an aircraft, but the details of the sighting didn't fully align with what would be expected from a conventional plane. The object's intense brightness, its steady movement northwest, and its sudden disappearance after a few minutes raised questions. Although contacted by several institutions, including the *New York Times* and Westchester County Airport, no definitive explanation was reached. The case remains one of the most intriguing UFO sightings of the 1960s.
