🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1963, a witness in Easton, Massachusetts, reported an unidentified flying object traveling parallel to the ground. It was described as a bright object with a red outer edge and a white center, accompanied by a white tail twice its size. Although the account lacked details such as duration or exact direction, the Air Force considered it likely a meteor. The absence of photographs and precise data limited the evaluation, but it was concluded that there was no evidence of an extraterrestrial spacecraft.
The official report, though brief, reflected the standard methodology of the time: ruling out conventional explanations before considering others. The case was archived without further investigation, and the witness received a response reinforcing the official stance that all aerial phenomena had rational explanations. This document is an example of how authorities handled sightings in the 1960s, with a pragmatic and skeptical approach.
