🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1963, a family in Cleveland, Ohio, found a mysterious object in their yard after a brief rain shower. The mother had been cleaning outside when she went inside to take shelter. Later, when she returned, she saw her son playing with an object she had never seen before. The object wasn’t observed falling, but the ground showed a clear indentation. It was submitted to the military for analysis, and although it was initially considered a potential UFO, the final conclusion was surprising.
Analysis determined the object was simply a rock composed of salt crystals. However, the case was more complex than it seemed. Investigator Allan J. Manak of the American UFO Committee documented the event in detail, including witness accounts and observations of the site. Despite the scientific explanation, the case was shared with experts like Dr. J. Allen Hynek, who deemed it relevant for the study of unidentified aerial phenomena. The rock, though natural, generated enough interest to be officially recorded and archived in a military database.
