🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A couple in California observed a luminous object moving slowly across the sky for over half an hour. The object, described as similar in size and brightness to a large star or planet, moved erratically toward the east. Despite its slow speed and lack of sound, the witnesses could not identify it as an aircraft or astronomical phenomenon. The Air Force concluded it was likely a high-altitude balloon or radiosonde, though no specific record of one was found in the area. The most plausible explanation pointed to a balloon with an attached light, drifting with the wind.
