🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1963, a witness at sea recorded a luminous phenomenon that lit up the horizon. The object left a long blue trail with red sparks, descending rapidly in just one or two seconds. The ship was in the Pacific, near coordinates 18.2N 161.3E, and the sighting was reported through military channels. Although a bright meteor was considered, the report did not rule out other explanations.
The description of the event is clear and detailed, suggesting a serious observation. The officer of the deck and several lookouts confirmed the phenomenon, but no photos or radar were used. Despite the brief sighting, the visual impact was significant. The case was classified as a possible meteor, but the nature of the trail and its speed raised questions that had no immediate answers.
