🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1963, an officer at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi observed an unusual aerial phenomenon. What stood out was a whitish-gray trail with no defined shape, appearing as if it came from an invisible aircraft. The object was observed for about 25 to 30 seconds, then disappeared and reappeared, this time heading southeast. At one point, it seemed to explode, though it did not disintegrate. The trail expanded like a cloud and lingered in the sky. Two witnesses, a dental technician and an instructor, gave similar accounts of the event. Although the possibility of an aircraft was considered, its type could not be identified and the plane itself was never seen.
The air base documented the case as part of an official report, including details of the observation, weather conditions, and witness testimonies. While explanations such as balloons or astronomical events were ruled out, no definitive conclusion was reached. The report noted that it was possible for an aircraft to leave contrails without being visible, though it also mentioned the possibility of a psychological or mental phenomenon. Regardless, the event remains an unsolved mystery.
