🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1963, a U.S. Navy officer and several reliable witnesses reported an unidentified object over the Pacific. The object appeared on the horizon with a reddish glow, surrounded by a luminous vapor twenty times larger than the object itself. Despite attempts to contact it via radar and radio, no identification was made. Observers initially thought it was an aircraft in distress, but the vapor pattern suggested a missile. The sighting lasted four minutes before the object disappeared into the clouds. It was suspected to be a missile launched from Vandenberg or Point Mugu, on a trajectory toward the Philippines.
