🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1963, an observer in San Jose, California, reported an object that appeared like a star with a blue glow. The object did not twinkle and was observed at an elevation of between 60 and 70 degrees in the east. Although it was mentioned that the object was moving south, the exact time and duration of the sighting were not reported. This caused some confusion, as the report states the sighting occurred at 7:29 PM, but suggests there may have been a one-hour error in time conversion. Despite characteristics that seem to point to a satellite, the lack of precise data led to the case being classified as "insufficient for evaluation".
The report, although brief, highlights that the source of the testimony was considered reliable. However, the lack of detailed information about the duration and exact time of the sighting limited the possibility of a more conclusive evaluation. The case was filed without reaching a definitive explanation, which is not unusual for reports from that era involving unidentified aerial sightings.
