🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1963, from the USS Calvert in the Pacific, a bright object with the apparent size of Jupiter was observed. The object appeared at 15 degrees elevation with an initial bearing of 270 degrees and moved southeast, maintaining the same altitude for 14 minutes. Observers, including a navigator, reported excellent weather conditions, increasing the credibility of the sighting. No photos were taken, but the object was considered possibly a satellite.
The report was sent to NASA and the Naval Oceanographic Office, but no definitive conclusion was reached. Although explanations like balloons or aircraft were ruled out, the object was not identified with certainty. This observation is part of a series of historical records reflecting uncertainty and interest in unidentified phenomena during the Cold War.
