An unusual object found in Fairfield, Illinois, in 1963 was initially reported to be radioactive. However, after being analyzed by military and scientific experts, it was discovered to have no radioactivity. The object, which was split into two parts, was sent to Northwestern University and the Wright-Patterson Materials Laboratory for more detailed studies.
