🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A witness in White Plains, New York, reported a UFO in December 1963 after waking up with a vibrating sensation in their ears. Looking out from the second-floor window, they observed a bright yellow light with sharp rays projecting in all directions. The object appeared at the edge of a nearby house's roof. Upon returning to get their glasses, the object had descended and changed to a dimmer yellow disk. Eventually, a bright yellow crescent appeared at the bottom before it vanished behind trees and buildings. The sky was dark, with no moon or stars visible.
The Air Force considered it possibly a flare from an aircraft, though the source remained unidentified. The witness, a 66-year-old artist, had reported a similar phenomenon in 1952, describing two connected spheres. In 1963, they estimated the object's size using a half-inch button held at arm's length. Despite investigations, no conventional explanation was found for the sighting.
