🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1964, a witness in Huntington, West Virginia, reported a bright object moving like a twinkling star. The observer saw it through a window and noted it traveled about 30 degrees across the horizon toward the northeast before suddenly disappearing, as if someone had turned off the light. The observation lasted about two and a half minutes, and the witness described the object as a point of light that didn’t fade or hide behind a cloud, but simply vanished. The weather was clear and cool, with many stars visible.
The Air Force responded to the report by stating it was similar to satellite observations, but since satellite data was not kept beyond one year, they could not identify the object with certainty. Despite the lack of physical or photographic evidence, the report concluded it could be a visible satellite. The witness, however, insisted the object had unusual behavior, with rapid and zigzagging movements, which raised doubts about its conventional nature.
