Summary

On February 20, 1964, unidentified contrails were reported over Pepperrell Air Force Base in Nova Scotia. The report, later classified as possibly a balloon or aircraft, could not definitively determine the origin of the vapor trails. Ground and air observers were unable to identify the nationality or type of aircraft responsible. The lack of additional data and the inability to correlate with known flight plans hindered the evaluation.

The base sent the report to several air commands and intelligence centers, including the Continental Air Defense Command (ADC) and Canadian facilities. Despite efforts, no match was found with registered flights or radar data. The document was declassified after 8 years, reflecting the high sensitivity of UFO reports during the Cold War. The mystery remains, but the case was closed without definitive conclusions.
