🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1964, near the coordinates 33°30'N and 177°40'W, an unidentified object was reported. Three observers described seeing an object moving at high speed toward the east, at an altitude of 82 degrees above the horizon. The object was described as shining with a brightness similar to a first-magnitude star. Although several possibilities were considered, such as balloons, aircraft, or astronomical phenomena, no definitive conclusion was reached. The report notes that the direction and speed matched satellite analysis, but no radar data was available to confirm.
The case was classified as a possible satellite observation, but without confirmation. The information was shared with multiple military and intelligence agencies, including the CIA. Despite efforts to identify the object, the data was insufficient for a conclusive evaluation. This type of report reflects the uncertainty and rigor with which UFO sightings were handled during the Cold War.
