🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1964, a U.S. Air Force report documented a sighting of a luminous object in Kansas City, Kansas. A witness described seeing an oval or elongated object, similar to a bright star, about 20 degrees above the horizon. The object remained stationary for several minutes, and when the observer returned hours later, it had disappeared. Although initially considered a UFO, investigators concluded it was likely the planet Venus, which was in a position matching the sighting. However, the description and behavior of the object created some uncertainty, leading to its documentation for further review.
The Air Force base at Richards-Gebaur, Missouri, received the report and classified it as "insufficient for a definitive evaluation," though it suggested the object was not a conventional aircraft. The report also noted that there was no sound or movement detected, adding to the mystery. Despite no conclusive evidence of an extraterrestrial phenomenon, the detailed testimony and description remain of interest to UFO researchers.
