🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1964, a 12-year-old girl in Albuquerque, New Mexico, claimed to have seen a flying saucer with "little green men" during her school lunch break. According to reports, the object was above the Sandia Mountains, and the girl insisted she had been burned by a ray gun. However, upon further investigation, there was no physical evidence of burns or an unidentified object. A doctor concluded that the girl's symptoms were consistent with conjunctivitis caused by wind and dust. Additionally, it was noted that the girl might have been influenced by previous publicity about sightings in Socorro. Despite the claims, there were no photographs or compelling evidence supporting the existence of a UFO at that time.
The case also included other sightings in the area, such as a man who claimed to have shot at an object and heard the echo of the bullet. However, authorities concluded that he was drunk and could not be arrested for using his gun on his own property. Other testimonies, like a man who saw an object reflecting light in the clouds, were also dismissed as natural phenomena. Although there were multiple reports, none provided conclusive evidence of an extraterrestrial phenomenon. Instead, investigators pointed to the witnesses' imagination, weather conditions, and the influence of previous news as more likely explanations.
