🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1964, twelve people in Des Plaines, Illinois, observed a luminous object moving across the sky. The object, described as long and the size of a plane, emitted a bright white light and rotated for 10 seconds. It moved from east to west and then toward the southwest, at a speed similar to that of a plane, around 150 mph. Although it remained visible for four minutes, no photos were taken and it was not clearly identified. The witnesses saw it with the naked eye, and the report concluded it could have been a conventional aircraft.
The report was submitted by the U.S. Air Force and did not rule out the possibility that the object was a regular plane. The object did not display unusual characteristics that would identify it as an astronomical phenomenon or a balloon, and the available data did not allow for a definitive evaluation. Despite the number of witnesses, no clear identification of the phenomenon was achieved, leaving some mystery around the sighting.
