🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1964, a witness in Red Feather Lakes, Colorado, reported seeing a white, star-like object in the sky. The object was described as a round ball of light, roughly the size of a dime. The witness observed it for 15 minutes, noting a gradual decrease in intensity until it faded at around 30 degrees elevation. No specific flight direction was reported, but the object appeared to follow a straight course. The report classifies the sighting as "ECHO I," a category used by the Air Force for cases that didn't fit other conventional classifications.
The witness, identified as an optometrist from Aurora, was considered reliable. Weather conditions were clear and cloudless, supporting the credibility of the observation. Although no photos or radar data were collected, the report does not rule out the possibility of the object being a balloon or an astronomical phenomenon. However, the lack of additional data and the unique description make this an intriguing case in the UFO files.
