In May 1964, a witness in Los Angeles observed an object with three lights arranged in a horizontal row. Initially thought to be an aircraft heading toward a building, it soon became clear the lights were not moving as expected. The object remained stationary before moving off at right angles with a greenish glow. The observation lasted an unspecified time, and no changes in speed or intensity were reported.
The official evaluation suggested it could be a reflection of searchlight activity from a fog bank. Low-level fog was a key factor, complicating accurate identification. Despite the lack of details on duration or changes, the description aligned with a natural explanation. The report was deemed insufficient for further investigation due to the delay in receiving it.
