🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1964, personnel at an Antarctic station observed an object believed to be an Apollo spacecraft. It was unknown whether the satellite was in a polar orbit, but if so, the spacecraft would have been clearly visible. The object was not considered a meteor, suggesting it was not a common natural phenomenon. The observation was brief and no photos were taken. NASA and the Navy were also notified, but there was not enough data for a clear evaluation. The possibility of it being the ECHO II satellite was mentioned, though this was not confirmed.
