Summary

In December 1960, a witness observed an unusual aerial object that did not match the characteristics of a typical meteor. He described a bright greenish light, disc-shaped, moving at a low angle over the horizon. The witness, an engineer in dynamics and physics, stated that the object emitted an extremely high temperature, clearly distinguishing it from a common celestial body. The sighting happened during a class, and although others were present, only one other person reported seeing it, adding credibility to the account.

The object approached at low altitude, giving the impression it might land in the Detroit River. Another student, located a few miles away, also saw it and estimated it to be closer to his location, suggesting the object was large enough to be visible from different points. The witness ruled out the possibility of a meteorite due to the season and unusual size. Although the object was never identified, his detailed and technical description caught the attention of authorities at the time.
