🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1964, a 22-year-old radio station employee in Toledo, Ohio, reported seeing three unidentified flying objects. On a warm Saturday night, while walking home through a wheat field, he observed the objects at about 300 feet in the air, moving slowly at around 10 mph. They resembled helicopter cockpits, each with a blinking red light and no green light. As he approached, the objects suddenly circled rapidly over a barn before vanishing. The only sound was a faint rumble, possibly from nearby traffic. The incident was reported to Project 10073 and examined by Dr. J. Allen Hynek, who sought photos and more details to rule out conventional explanations.
The witness, fascinated by the event, wrote multiple letters to Dr. Hynek and took photos of the area to aid the investigation. While possible explanations like luminescent insects or optical illusions were considered, the case remained unresolved. The detailed account and insistence on its unconventional nature make it a curious entry in UFO history.
