🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1964, an 18-year-old in Dale, Indiana, reported seeing a luminous object the size of a basketball landing near his home. According to his testimony, the object left a scorched patch of grass, three holes arranged in an isosceles triangle, and a strong smell of sulfur. The young man claimed that he felt a force stopping him when he tried to approach, and that when he looked again, the object had taken off westward. Police and an Air Force investigator, William T. Powers, examined the site and found physical evidence, although Powers concluded it could be a prank. Despite the doubts, other witnesses reported seeing mysterious lights in the area before, adding an air of mystery to the case.
The case was investigated by Wm. T. Powers, who concluded it could be a prank, although he did not rule out natural or unexplained phenomena. Samples from the scorched area were collected and experiments were conducted to replicate the damage, including attempts to start a fire with matches. Additionally, it was mentioned that the young man might have been seeking attention or even planning a prank. However, other witnesses, including neighbors and a police officer, corroborated the existence of mysterious lights in the region, which generated some controversy. The case remains an unresolved mystery, with enough evidence to keep doubts about its true nature.
