Summary

In June 1964, a physicist and his friend observed two flying objects near Flathead Lake, north of Polson, Montana. The objects were at a high altitude, and one resembled the Echo II satellite, which the witness had seen before. The objects approached each other and one made a sudden, sharp turn at high speed, while the other continued in a slower, more erratic path. The description of the objects' behavior created confusion, as one seemed to follow the pattern of a satellite and the other that of an aircraft. The official report concluded that one object was the Echo II satellite and the other an aircraft.
