🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1964, a 14-year-old boy in El Paso, Texas, captured a supposed spacecraft and two accompanying objects on film. The teenager, Jack Spiro, described the objects as a "silver ice cream cone" and two "ivory" shapes. Although initially thought to be an unusual aerial phenomenon, military authorities concluded it was a weather balloon with its instrument packages. The film was analyzed by military laboratories and revealed no clear images of the objects, only the top of telephone poles and scattered clouds. Despite this, the boy's family and some initial officers expressed confusion or excitement about the results.
The case generated some controversy, especially when initial results seemed to contradict official conclusions. The film was sent to Dallas for processing to avoid suspicions of military tampering. Although the analysis revealed no mysterious objects, the witness's description matched the balloon and its instruments. The case was filed as a weather balloon observation, but the family did not fully accept the explanation, keeping some mystery around the incident.
