🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1964, a witness in San Antonio, Texas, reported a crescent-shaped object that appeared to split into two halves. This phenomenon lasted about three minutes, with the object disappearing alternately and reappearing as a continuous shape. The observer, a civilian without specialized training, saw the object from a moving car, without optical aids. The atmosphere had unusual conditions, including distant thunderstorms and a shallow thermal inversion, complicating visibility.
The official evaluation concluded that the object was likely the crescent moon, affected by low clouds and the observer's movement. Despite the seemingly mysterious nature, there was no physical evidence or photographs, and the report suggested that weather conditions were the main factor. The case was classified as intermediate, with no conclusive findings of aerospace nature.
