🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1964, a citizen of Lynn, Massachusetts, reported an unidentified flying object (UFO) that appeared to be a satellite. According to the report, the object was moving toward the southwest, an unusual direction for normal orbital paths. The description of the object and its movement matched that of a radiosonde or a rawinsonde balloon with a light attached. However, no immediate electrical activity was observed, which complicated the definitive identification. The report also noted that there was no connection between the sighting reported by the citizen and that of his wife or his sister, although it was suggested that the report might have been influenced by information provided by a third person.
The official evaluation concluded that the sighting was likely a weather balloon, and an explanation was sent to the citizen regarding the Air Force's stance on unidentified flying objects. Despite the lack of physical or photographic evidence, the case was considered resolved as a known natural phenomenon.
