UFOs photographed during eclipse in Europe

Summary

In 1954, European newspapers reported sightings of unidentified flying objects during and after a solar eclipse. In Finland, photographs captured round and cylindrical objects that did not appear to be the moon or clouds. One object, in particular, showed an illuminated edge as if sunlight hit a hard surface, sparking curiosity and debate.

In Norway, a photographer captured images of two discs with condensation trails moving at high speed in the opposite direction of the plane from which they were taken. In Austria, a contractor and two witnesses reported a red-gleaming object that moved irregularly for two hours. These accounts, published in local media, were collected by the CIA as part of its surveillance on unidentified aerial phenomena.
