🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1964, a military officer in South Dakota observed an object resembling a white or blue-white star moving in a straight line toward the north. The sighting lasted 15 minutes and was classified as a possible satellite. Although no photos were taken and no physical evidence was found, the report concluded it could have been the EXO II satellite. The observation took place on a clear, moonless night, making the object easily visible.
The officer who reported the incident, considered reliable, did not identify the object as an aircraft or balloon. The object's speed ruled out a balloon but matched the movement of a satellite in a polar orbit. Despite the lack of definitive confirmation, the report suggested the object could have been a satellite, though no certainty was established.
