🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1964, a witness in Marietta, Ohio reported a bright crescent-shaped object that disappeared over the horizon. The sighting lasted 20 minutes and no sound was heard. The observer, who had military experience, described the object as faster than anything seen before, even faster than satellites. It was estimated to be over 100,000 feet in altitude. Despite the detailed description, the data was inconsistent and did not allow for a conclusive evaluation by authorities.
The report mentions that the object was initially seen at 30 degrees elevation and moved northwest. The witness and two companions, also with military experience, could not identify the object. It was suggested it could be a satellite or aircraft, but inconsistencies in the reported time and direction complicated the evaluation. The case remains unresolved.
