🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
An engineering executive from Norwich, New York, Louis Daubert, reported in 1964 having observed a luminous unidentified flying object (UFO) near the ground. The object, described as a sphere with a diameter of 15 to 30 feet and a glowing ring around it, was seen for about 4 to 5 minutes in the darkness of the night. Daubert, driving along a rural road, stopped his car to observe it and claimed it made no sound. After emitting three blinding flashes, the object vanished without a trace. Although investigators considered several explanations, such as balloons or aircraft, they could not provide a definitive conclusion.
The official investigation, conducted by Project 10073, concluded that the case lacked a clear explanation. Although some possibilities, such as astronomical objects or aircraft, were ruled out, the final report classified it as "unclassified." Daubert's detailed description, along with reports from other local residents, suggests there were multiple sightings during that period. However, the lack of physical evidence or additional witnesses left many questions unanswered. The case remains a mystery in the history of UFO sightings in the United States.
