🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
On July 28, 1964, multiple reports reached the Duty Officer at the U.S. Air Force Foreign Technology Division, all concerning an unidentified flying object. At 21:50 and 21:55, two different individuals reported a fast-moving object traveling from south to north, described as star-like but flickering and very bright. Later, at 00:25, an officer from ATC confirmed that the object had been seen by two police officers and by A/1C Creach, though no further estimates were given. Finally, at 00:31, a major reported that NORAD had identified the object as an ECHO II satellite. Despite this identification, a request was made for a forecast of visible satellites in the Dayton area for future reference.
