🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1964, a witness in Celina, Ohio, reported seeing a bright object in the sky moving slowly and then stopping. The initial report classified it as a satellite, specifically Echo I, passing through the area. The witness described how the object moved silently, dimmed as it crossed the Milky Way, and vanished quickly after a pause. The official military response confirmed that the Echo I satellite was in the area at that time, explaining the observation.
The case was quickly resolved, and the witness received an explanatory letter. Although the report lacks photos or physical evidence, the object's description and behavior matched known satellite characteristics. This type of report helped researchers rule out unexplained phenomena and better understand objects in orbit.
