🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A civilian observer in Sparta, Tennessee, reported a bright object resembling a star on September 4, 1964, at 02:15 local time. The object was seen for 13 minutes, moving from the northwest to the southeast. Although initially intriguing, the investigation concluded that it was the ECHO II satellite, which was passing over Nashville at that time. The object's description and trajectory matched the known data of the satellite, ruling out the possibility of an unexplained phenomenon. The report includes details about the exact location of the sighting and the weather conditions at the time.
The person who saw the object stated they were studying the stars, suggesting it was not a casual observation. Although the investigator planned to visit the location for a personal interview, no physical evidence or photographs were found to support the sighting. The official report, marked as non-sensitive, was shared with several Air Force units and the Foreign Technology Division, as part of the standard process for analyzing UFO reports.
