Summary

In September 1964, three young girls in Brookfield, Massachusetts, observed an unusual aerial phenomenon for two hours. They described a bright red object in the sky that circled a lake, returned with another similar object, and later came back with a third before fading away. The witnesses used binoculars to clearly see the object, which appeared oval-shaped with a ring and a pole on top. Although the report reached the U.S. Air Force in May 1965, it was considered too old for a serious investigation. Analysts suggested it could be a star or planet seen from a fixed point, or even conventional aircraft activity, but there was no conclusive evidence.

The description of the event, while detailed, lacked physical or photographic proof. The official report concluded there was insufficient data for an evaluation. Despite this, the girls' account and the precise description of the object raise some curiosity. This case, like many others, reflects the difficulty of distinguishing between natural phenomena and unidentified objects, especially when observations are made from the ground at night.
