🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1964, a military observer reported a bright object moving east at high speed. It was seen for seven minutes at an elevation of 50 degrees, with a brightness similar to a first-magnitude star. Although no photos were taken and no physical evidence was found, experts concluded it was likely a satellite. However, the lack of radar (ECHO) data left open the possibility of another explanation.
The sighting occurred south of the observer, near the coordinates 36.4°N 176.1°W, a remote area of the Pacific. The object's estimated speed exceeded 1,000 miles per hour, making it difficult to identify without further information. The report was shared with several military and intelligence agencies, including CINCPAC and NORAD, reflecting the significance given to the case at the time.
