Summary

In November 1964, a civilian in Lakeland, Florida reported an unidentified flying object moving at high speed across the sky. The witness described it as a bright orange point of light, similar to the North Star, visible for about 35 seconds. Initially estimating a speed of 500-700 mph, the witness later revised the estimate to 2,000-4,000 mph. The object made no sound and faded away slowly, as if blending into the sky. The witness, who even removed his glasses to confirm it wasn’t a reflection, insisted it wasn’t a conventional phenomenon.

Confusion arose when initial data in the report contradicted the final version. The object was first reported as moving west, but later described as moving northwest. Additionally, the witness mentioned it vanished "into thin air," while the official report described a gradual disappearance. The lack of physical evidence and the inability to confirm with satellites or aircraft of the time led to the case being classified as "conflicting data." Despite this, the witness, a Boy Scout, insisted it wasn’t an illusion and that three people saw it together. The case remains an unsolved mystery.
