🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In December 1964, radar operators at Patuxent River Naval Station (Maryland) detected unidentified objects with extreme speeds. Two targets appeared 40 miles away, approached rapidly, and disappeared. One later reappeared in the opposite direction. Calculated speeds exceeded 4800 knots, prompting media attention. The Navy concluded it was electronic interference or radar malfunctions, though observers agreed they had never seen similar signals. The official investigation downplayed the event, but records and testimonies suggest an unusual experience.
