UFO with lights landing in Virginia

Summary

A witness in Hampton, Virginia, reported an object with lights landing on Plum Tree Island in January 1965. The object, about 75 feet wide and 10 to 15 feet tall, displayed three to seven amber and red lights that blinked and rotated. The observer, an electronic instrumentation engineer, watched it for 1.5 hours using 20-power binoculars. The object zigzagged, landed near the shore, stayed for five minutes, and then sped away to the east.
