Summary

In February 1965, four unidentified flying objects were spotted over Morgantown, North Carolina, within a 50-minute period. Three appeared as fading red lights and the fourth was large and bright. All moved quickly, coming from the east and disappearing to the west. One left a clear trail. The observation was made from the ground, with no photographs taken and no physical evidence found.

The official report suggested the objects could have been misinterpreted as satellites or aircraft. In March 1965, the Air Force responded to a public inquiry, stating most UFO sightings are explained by conventional objects or natural phenomena. Examples included weather balloons, meteors, or aircraft lights. The Morgantown case was included in this general analysis.
