🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1965, a witness in Hyattsville, Maryland, reported an unidentified object that hovered in the air for about a minute before quickly disappearing into space. The observation took place on a bright and clear day, and the object was described as a solid, sharply outlined body with no visible signs of wings or engines. Although the witness claimed it could not be an aircraft, the official Air Force conclusion was that it was an airplane. The confusion may have stemmed from misperceptions of distance or angle, which are common in UFO sightings.
The report includes details about the duration, trajectory, and appearance of the object, but no physical evidence or photographs were found to support the observation. The Air Force concluded that the report lacked sufficient data to identify the object with certainty, but ruled out supernatural or extraterrestrial possibilities. The testimony was recorded as part of a standard questionnaire used to gather information on UFO sightings, though no definitive resolution was reached.
