🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1965, a witness in Kansas City, Missouri, observed a bright object moving in a straight line from south to north. The observer, a 37-year-old mechanical engineer, noticed it while watching the constellation Orion. Described as star-like and very high in the sky, the object remained visible for 10 to 15 minutes before disappearing behind the observer's house and the horizon. Given that the ECHO II satellite was passing over the area at the time, investigators concluded the sighting was consistent with its trajectory.
The report evaluation indicated no anomalous features. The observer used binoculars to confirm the object's steady and linear motion. Weather conditions were ideal, with clear skies and minimal wind. Although the observer was not a professional astronomer, his testimony was deemed reliable. The alignment with the ECHO II satellite's position closed the investigation without further analysis.
