🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A U.S. Air Force officer at Kingsley Field, Oregon, reported a teardrop-shaped object with a bright white trail on the night of February 21, 1965. The observer, Captain Gerald A. Harris, described how the object traveled at a low elevation and disappeared behind a hill, followed by a flash covering 10% of the horizon. Although initially it might seem unusual, meteorological data and the event's description classified it as a meteor. The observation was deemed fully reliable by authorities, and there was no physical evidence to support any other explanation.
The report details that the object was seen for 1 to 2 seconds, without sound, and its path was straight and slightly tilted. The weather was clear with unlimited visibility, which reinforced the credibility of the testimony. Despite the unusual nature of the subsequent flash, the analysis concluded there were no abnormal conditions to explain the phenomenon, so it was filed as a meteor.
